We’re committed to providing a human touch approach to cases, which means that when you use our Web Chat function you will be talking to a real person and won’t receive an automated response, and you can speak to an Underwriter if you need to - to chat through any complexities of the case.

We keep the customer at the forefront of our minds throughout the full application process and our recent investments in technology reflect this. We’re now able to provide same day offers on fully packaged cases by using a variety of online tools to verify property valuations, accepting electronic signatures on our mortgage declarations and utilising auto income verification. In other words, for qualifying cases we can verify your clients’ income without the need for you to provide scanned copies of their documents. All you need to do is check the ‘shopping list’ of required documents on our eMortgages system which is generated when the full application is submitted; if a document isn’t on the list then you don’t need to provide it. All these changes are designed to help speed up the mortgage process for you and your clients.

Similarly, we pride ourselves on the level of service we offer and have a variety of ways you can get in touch. This may be through our network of field and telephone BDMs, whose combined knowledge covers a range of subjects including Cladding, Self-Employed Clients and Product Transfers. Or you could contact our Broker Support team who know our policy inside out and are on hand to provide case updates and answers to your enquiries. We’re committed to providing a common-sense approach to lending, which our Underwriters use when assessing cases. We want to help people into homes and will continually look for reasons to lend, rather than to not.

Our Business Development team are also running weekly webinars to answer your questions on a range of subjects, plus we’ve recently introduced webinars for new brokers who haven’t done business with us before to allow them the opportunity to get to know us and how to place their first case with Skipton.
