EPC Plus Home Energy Report

We’ve teamed up with Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) provider, Vibrant, to give members a comprehensive home energy efficiency report for their property – for FREE. And it’s not just an EPC, it’s an EPC Plus!

We understand that going green and being environmentally-friendly is becoming more and more important to our members. Offering a free EPC Plus home energy report is one way we can help our homeowning members to consider their own environmental footprint, by highlighting ways they could improve the energy efficiency of the property they own.

This offer is not available for properties constructed within the last 10 years. Here's what's included in the EPC Plus service from Vibrant:

  • A home visit from an assessor to inspect each room
  • An up-to-date EPC showing the current rating
  • A detailed report on the property’s full potential, with a suggested maximum EPC rating and the changes necessary to achieve it
  • Access to the technical team at Vibrant who can answer any questions, once the report has been issued
  • Detailed quotes showing the cost of work using contractors from Vibrant's carefully selected panel available on request
  • A choice on whether the customer uses Vibrant's services or finds their own contractors. If they choose Vibrant to project-manage the works, Vibrant will charge a fee for the service, which is subject to a separate agreement between the customer and Vibrant.

Key things to know

  • A free EPC Plus is exclusively available to Skipton Building Society mortgage and savings members – for property/properties they own – and the offer is not transferable.
  • Maximum of 10 free EPC Plus reports per member. One free report per property.
  • For landlords in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, the new EPC rating of the property may affect their ability to let the property out, for example if the EPC rating is below the minimum standard required. It’s important that they understand this impact when requesting an EPC Plus. If they’re unsure how an EPC could impact their property, we recommend seeking their own independent legal advice.
